SAWPA launched our Santa Ana River Watershed Weather Modification Pilot Program on November 15, 2023. The Pilot Program is a four-year study to demonstrate the benefits of cloud seeding in the region to enhance the local water supplies and advance watershed resilience in the Santa Ana River Watershed. For the next four years, the Pilot Program will operate during the traditional winter storm season (between November 15 and April 15).
This study underscores SAWPA’s efforts to evaluate new approaches for developing local water supplies. Updates on the program’s progress will be shared on SAWPA’s website. SAWPA encourages the community to stay engaged and informed about the Pilot Program. Regular updates and outreach efforts will be provided through various channels, including the SAWPA website and social media platforms.
